Built at INFINITI's Smyrna, Tennessee facility alongside the QX60 — right here in the Southeast
When INFINITI launched the FX35 in 2003, it practically invented the performance crossover segment. The 2027 QX65 is the spiritual successor to that iconic design — bringing back the daring fastback silhouette that made the FX a global sensation, updated for a new era of luxury and technology.
The 2027 QX65 replaces both the outgoing QX50 and QX55 as INFINITI's premium midsize two-row offering, slotting alongside the three-row QX60. It competes directly with the BMW X6, Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe, Genesis GV80 Coupe, and Porsche Cayenne Coupe — undercutting all of them by tens of thousands of dollars at its $55,535 starting price.
INFINITI's design chief Alfonso Albaisa drew on Japanese aesthetic principles to shape the QX65 — including Ma (the beauty of space), Utsuroi (seamless transitions), and Kabuku (the extraordinary and unexpected).
The production QX65 features a layered 3D bamboo forest-inspired grille with an illuminated INFINITI emblem, digital piano key LED headlights, and full-width afterburner-inspired taillights. The signature Sunfire Red launch color features three layers of paint with gold-coated glass flecks, inspired by the Nissan GT-R's Regal Red.
The 2027 QX65 delivers a technology-rich, driver-focused cabin with premium materials and an extensive list of standard features across all trims. Without the third row, the QX65 offers 35.8 cu. ft. of cargo space and an intimate 5-passenger layout that prioritizes refinement.

The 2027 QX65 launches with INFINITI's proven VC-Turbo engine and standard all-wheel drive. Reported plans suggest a V6 option with approximately 300 hp could follow, potentially paving the way for a Red Sport performance variant.

For years, Red Sport was INFINITI's performance badge — delivering extra power, sharper suspension, and sportier styling on models like the Q50 and Q60. Now, reports suggest INFINITI is planning to bring Red Sport back across its entire SUV lineup.
The reported 3.5L V6 for the QX65 could lay the groundwork for a high-performance variant. Industry insiders have indicated that INFINITI's long-term goal is to offer a performance model for every vehicle in the lineup — and the QX65's sporty coupe-crossover character makes it a natural candidate.

Both share the same platform and are built at the same Smyrna, Tennessee facility. The QX60 is a three-row family SUV (7 passengers), while the QX65 is a two-row coupe-crossover (5 passengers) with a fastback roofline, 35.8 cu. ft. of cargo space (5.8 cu. ft. less than QX60), and a sportier, performance-focused character. The QX65 starts at $55,535; the QX60 starts at $53,085. The QX65 replaces the discontinued QX50 and QX55.
Yes. INFINITI has positioned the QX65 as the spiritual successor to the legendary FX35/FX45 and later QX70 — reviving the brand's performance-coupe crossover DNA with a modern fastback design, advanced technology, and the "Artistry in Motion" design philosophy.
At launch, the QX65 comes with a confirmed 2.0-liter VC-Turbo four-cylinder producing 268 horsepower and 286 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 9-speed automatic and standard AWD. Automotive News has reported that a 3.5-liter V6 option producing approximately 300 horsepower could be added later, which could set the stage for a Red Sport performance variant, but INFINITI has not officially confirmed that engine option.
The 2027 INFINITI QX65 starts at $55,535 (Luxe trim, including destination). The Sport trim is $57,235, and the range-topping Autograph is $64,134. This positions the QX65 significantly below competitors like the BMW X6, Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe, and Porsche Cayenne Coupe.
The 2027 INFINITI QX65 competes in the midsize luxury coupe-crossover segment against the BMW X6, Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe, Genesis GV80 Coupe, Porsche Cayenne Coupe, and Audi Q8. At $55,535, the QX65 undercuts all of these competitors by tens of thousands of dollars while offering standard AWD, 6,000-lb towing, and a Klipsch premium audio system.
The base QX65 Luxe comes with an 11-speaker system. The Sport trim upgrades to a 16-speaker, 600-watt Klipsch system with an 8-inch subwoofer. The Autograph features a 20-speaker, 1,200-watt Klipsch Reference Premiere system with headrest speakers — one of the most powerful audio systems in its class.
Every 2027 QX65 comes standard with Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane Departure Prevention, Rear Parking Sensors, and INFINITI's ProPILOT Assist Level 2 driver assistance system. Available features include a 360-degree camera, digital rear-view mirror, and 10.8-inch head-up display.
