More than 10 models make up the lineup of the 2018 INFINITI Q50 sedan that has an entry-level luxury classification. The 2018 Audi A5 is a luxury sedan that only comes in three editions. Available with three turbocharged engines and a hybrid system, the Q50 is much more powerful than the Q5. The Forward Emergency Braking and Backup Collision Intervention also give this INFINITI model an advantage over the A5 in active safety.
The 2018 INFINITI Q50 base trim runs on a turbocharged 2.0 L engine that delivers 208 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. Under the hood of the 3.0t models is a 3.0 L turbo engine that yields 300 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. Exclusively installed in the Red Sport editions, a high-performance turbo engine cranks out 400 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque. For its efficient design, the Direct Response Hybrid system has an impressive rating of 360 hp. In stark contrast, the Audi A5 is driven by the 2.0 L TFSI engine that's limited to 252 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque.
The Intelligent All-Wheel Drive makes the 2018 INFINITI Q50 versatile enough for driving on rough landscapes. Under normal driving conditions, this signature AWD fully engages the rear wheels. Available with the Quattro AWD, the Audi A5 also delivers a road-gripping drive in various conditions. This patented drivetrain is synced with the S tronic transmission system that uses dual clutches to create up to seven gear speeds. The Q50's electronically controlled automatic transmission also offers seven fixed gear ratios. However, this dynamic transmission also comes with the Adaptive Shift Logic technology that isn't found in the S tronic gearbox. The Manual Mode and Downshift Rev Matching give you extra options for customizing the ride in the Q50. This sophisticated INFINITI sedan could be enhanced with the optional Direct Adaptive Steering. With the toggle of a switch, the Drive Mode Selector can be activated to further boost the car's performance. Additional support is provided by the Active Trace Control and Dual Flow shock absorbers.
By analyzing traffic flow, the INFINITI Q50's Forward Emergency Braking gives you an extra level of confidence. This autonomous braking function cooperates with the Predictive Forward Collision Warning. The threat of a lateral collision is low when you respond to the Lane Departure Prevention. Gentle steering guidance is also provided by the Active Lane Control. As you attempt to pull the Q50 into a parallel parking spot, remember to look at the Around View Monitor that's linked to four exterior camera lenses. Rear collisions are also unlikely to occur when the Backup Collision Intervention comes on. Additionally, the Moving Object Detection enhances your alertness of things that might be directly behind the Q50. Although it's quite advanced, the Audi Pre Sense Basic just doesn't have as many accident-avoidance features as the Q50 sedan.
